Immigration Lawyer in Tampa, Orlando, New York, Albuquerque & El Paso

The United States of America is a nation founded upon the courage and dreams of immigrants. To this day, the USA’s economic, social, and political opportunities attract hopeful immigrants from around the world.

Faced with millions of immigrants wishing to enter the US—as well as the desire to keep our nation safe—the US government has passed more restrictive immigration laws to regulate the comings and goings of international visitors and immigrants. Even so, foreign nationals are still able to enter this country through a variety of immigration visas and non-immigrant visas. For any type of visa, the counsel of an experienced immigration lawyer is recommended to help foreign nationals understand the paperwork, requirements, advantages, and limitations of US immigration law.

Maney | Gordon, P.A. is a firm of board certified immigration lawyers with offices in Tampa, Orlando, New York, St Petersburg, Albuquerque, and El Paso. Our more than 30 years of experience in all areas of immigration law has proven invaluable to our clients seeking an immigration visa, permanent residence in the US, citizenship, and much more.

Our immigration attorneys have received a peer reviewed AV rating—the highest rating possible for legal expertise and ethics—from Martindale-Hubbell. We are also members of the Bar in Florida, New York, New Mexico, and Texas. Whether you have questions about a green card, travel visa, permanent residence, employment eligibility verification, or deportation, an immigration lawyer from Maney | Gordon, P.A. can provide you with competent, confidential, and knowledgeable legal advice.

Board Certified Immigration Lawyers for Immigration Visa Law, Green Card Law, Citizenship & More

Permanent Visas

Other than by seeking political asylum, lawful permanent residence (the "green card") is obtained through family relationship or occupation. These two primary immigration methods are outlined briefly below.

» Family Visas
» Permanent Residence through Employment

Non-Immigrant Visas

Non-immigrant visas are issued for the specific purpose of the foreign national's temporary visit. Many of these visas require a petition to be filed and approved by the Immigration & Naturalization Service in the United States before the consular officer can issue the visa.

The difficulty or ease with which a visa is issued is determined by the visa category, and at times, the economic and political conditions of the foreign national's home country.

Following is a list of the Non-Immigrant Visa categories and links to their descriptions in our U.S. Immigration Visa Guide.

» B-1 - BUSINESS VISITOR
» B-2 - VISITOR FOR PLEASURE
» E-1 - TREATY TRADER
» E-2 - TREATY INVESTOR
» F-1 - STUDENT VISA
» H-1B - SPECIALTY OCCUPATION
» H-2 - TEMPORARY WORKER
» J-1 - PHYSICIANS WAIVER
» L-1 - INTRA-COMPANY TRANSFEREE
» P-1 - PERFORMING ARTISTS & ATHLETES
» TN - Treaty NAFTA
